A modern fuse box that keeps your home safe, most fitted in a day

Fuse Box Upgrades (Consumer Units)

Your fuse box (a consumer unit, in the trade) is the heart of your home's electrics. An old one is the weak spot we find most often. A modern board cuts the power in a split second when something goes wrong, which protects you from shocks and fire.

We test every circuit before the swap, so there are no surprises. Then we fit a good board with surge protection and label every switch. Most swaps take one day. We leave the cupboard and the floor as clean as we found them.

What's included

Circuits tested first

Every circuit is tested before the swap, so hidden faults are found and priced up front.

A safety switch on every circuit

A fault in one room never turns off the whole house.

Surge protection

Your TV, computer and kitchen appliances are protected from power spikes.

Clearly labelled

Every switch on the new board is labelled, so you always know which is which.

Fuse boxes questions, answered

How much does a new fuse box cost?

It depends on the board and your circuits, so we give you one fixed price for your job before we start. No surprises on the bill.

How long will the power be off?

Usually a few hours in the middle of the day. We plan the swap so you are without power for as short a time as we can.

Why does my new fuse box trip when the old one never did?

A new board spots faults the old one missed. That is the protection doing its job. We test every circuit at the swap, so anything it finds gets fixed properly.

Do I need a new fuse box?

If yours has old rewireable fuses, a wooden back or no safety switches, it is time. We can check it and tell you honestly.
