Clear safety reports for homeowners, landlords and buyers

Electrical Safety Checks (EICR)

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a full check of the electrics in a property, from the fuse box to the last socket. It tells you what is safe, what needs work and what can wait.

Landlords in England must have a safe EICR at least every five years. Bridgwater and Highbridge have a lot of rented homes and house shares, with many filled by workers on the Hinkley Point C build. You get the formal report and a plain English summary. If anything needs fixing, we give you a fixed price.

Safety checks questions, answered

How much does an EICR cost?

It depends on the size of the property and the number of circuits. You get a clear price before you book, with rates agreed up front for landlords with more than one property.

How often do I need an EICR?

Rented homes need one at least every five years. For your own home, about every ten years is normal. Get one sooner for older wiring and when you buy.

Do I need an EICR when I buy a house?

It is not the law, but it is a good idea. It tells you what state the wiring is in before you move in, so there are no nasty surprises.

What if the report says unsatisfactory?

It means one or more things need fixing. We explain what they are and give you a fixed price to put them right.
